Hello! My name is Liv
I created my blog, lettuceliv in 2013. This journey however all started in may of 2012. I began to work in an office and spent 7 hours a day sitting at a desk staring at a computer, within a couple of months, of coffee, bagels, chips and a completely sedentary life I drastically saw a change in my complexion, my energy levels, my mood and the most obvious one- my weight.
Before any of this I graduated from Concordia University in Montreal with a bachelor in fine arts and the years there I would spend long hours standing up running around on a diet of caffeine… mind you this wasn’t the best of diets either however because I needed the fuel for school deadlines I’d only every feel the crash after finals where I’d spend hours on end recuperating in bed BINGE watching netflicks.
In the winter of 2012 I decided I need to do something because I went from 122 pounds to 132 pounds in less then 8 months luckily a new gym was opening near home and I decided this was what would fix me! After I finished work I needed to burn the calories I ate while sitting on my ass right! However that is only 1/3 of the solution but it was the momentum I needed.
And so the gym opened and I marched on in. Ran on the treadmill everyday I could, only I would also keep eating the same as before so I didn’t see any real physical results… I was agitated so I began to do some research, I purchased some books, downloaded My Fitness Pal app and searched the web. I luckily stumbled upon, fullyrawkristina on Youtube and I was mesmerized by her colorful dinners of her 80/10/10 lifestyle I was quickly hooked and forced everyone I knew to watch her videos. I also learnt about freely the banana girl, again completely in awe of the high caloric intake, and 10 mile morning runs… to start how can they not be fat! there so toned it didn’t make sense to me, so I researched Dr Douglas Graham, the founder of the 80/10/10 diet and I ordered his book online.
I couldn’t be a 80/10/10 raw vegan for the simple reason that I do not have that mental endurance, yet. It’s an attractive lifestyle change with the hopes of energy and beautiful skin and even the possibility of changing my eye color blue (it happened to Kristina she posted a video on her you tube about it)
I also came across Kimberly Snyder – nutritionist to the stars (if gwyneth paltrow listens to her then she must be good!) I’m so happy I found her! I bought her books and instantly understood everything! Her recipes were easy and she herself experienced being a raw vegan for many years before deciding to create her own path.
During all this time of research I created an Instagram account for myself to motivate me and keep track of the things I learnt luckily people enjoyed what I was showing them and my little community grew. Through out my whole journey lettuceliv’s followers have witnessed me from being omnivore, vegetarian and now vegan.
I am still learning and am still growing as a person and I feel like this website will help me and you towards the right health conscious path 🙂
Thank you
