Asparagus: Spring Time SuperFood

This spring time veggie is full of amino acids, vitamin e, and folic acid! The amino acids in asparagus can help flush out harmful toxins lingering in urinary track. Meaning our body will less likely get a UTI if you eat asparagus regularly. So if your prone to Urinary track infections you should stock up on these!

Asparagus are also packed with vitamins E. This is a vitamin known to help boost the immune system. It keeps our cells nourished and protected from harmful free radicals. For us to attain the most vitamin E absorption it’s best to cook the asparagus in an oil, preferably avocado oil because this oil is also high in vitamins e and has a high smoke point meaning you are not destroying its nutrient content by cooking at high temperatures.

AsparagusIn just 4 spears you get 22% of your daily amount of folic acid. Why is folic acid important? This vitamin helps create new cells in our bodies. It’s an essential vitamin for pregnant woman to protect the growing fetus from neural tube defect.

These were just three of the many vitamins housed inside this spring veggie! And I’m hoping that with this recipe you’ll be adding asparagus to your meals!
